An interactive puppet theatre about feelings and friendship
The curious Little Bear peeks out of the box and discovers a whole new world—along the way, he meets new friends. Ball is shy and cautious, and Little Bear must be careful not to scare him away. Car, on the other hand, is a noisy whirlwind, sometimes a little too much to handle.
Little Bear & the Toy Box is an interactive and playful puppet performance, inspired by children’s own experiences of starting kindergarten. Accompanied by music and performed without words, the puppets bring to life the emotions that arise when meeting new friends. Conflicts may spark, but through empathy, compromise, and imagination, friendships can grow.
The performance takes place on the floor, at eye level with the children, with puppets that interact on their terms. At the end, the audience is invited to join a playful session where they can create characters and tell their own stories using selected toys. With its simple staging, the piece can be performed anywhere—from a classroom floor to a theatre stage.
“A delicate and poetic little wordless performance.”
“Rebekah Caputo is a magical puppeteer.”
“With the tiniest of details, she conveys the little puppet’s feelings and thoughts.”
