A marvellous theatre installation for the entire family, based on ’The Snow Queen’ by Hans Christian Andersen
Follow the mirror splinters through dripping ice caves, scents of roses, and deep birch forest surrounded by dense darkness and glittering light. A labyrinthine journey in Gerda’s footsteps.
With her warmth and unyielding love, Gerda defeated witchcraft, thieves and the icy cold of the North Pole to reach the castle of the Snow Queen.
’Gerda’s Travel’ received the Reumert Award for Children and Youth Performance of the Year in 2017.
OBS N.B. In certain parts of the installation, the participants need to be able to crawl.
”Supreme visual techniques and quirkily decorated rooms make this journey an eye-popping tour de force. ’Gerda’s Travel’ is an example of theatre at an international level and the ideal proof that collaborations with foreign artists can make the sum of 1+1 much greater than 2.”
★★★★★★ Århus Stiftstidende
” ’Gerda’s travel’ is art and theatre at its most social, sublime and collaborative. It’s an incredible and marvellous journey and the perfect Christmas experience for the entire family.”
