Brother Sun, Sister Moon

A rich and visually poetic tale of Francis of Assisi

In 1181, Francis is born in Assisi. No one could have known that he would become one of history’s most remarkable figures. The son of a wealthy merchant, he grows up surrounded by comfort, dreaming of honour and glory. But encounters with illness, poverty and war change him.

Francis renounces the life he knows and chooses a simpler path, living in close connection with nature. He seeks to build bridges where fear and conflict divide, reaching out to both people and animals. In particular, he cares for those with leprosy — the very people others turn away from.

Through the magic of puppetry, Francis’ life unfolds in vivid, living images, gently drawing us into his world. A beautiful Christmas performance for children and adults, offering stillness, warmth and space for reflection.
